IV Sedation for Nervous Patients
We understand that for some people, visiting the dentist can be an anxious experience – sometimes it’s an illogical fear and on other times it is because of something that may have happened in the past.
We, at Bancroft Dentistry, pride ourselves in taking an unhurried approach and gentle, caring attitude to how we work – but sometimes a little more help is needed.
We have been performing IV Sedation for dentistry at this practice for over 30 years, helping patients get the dentistry they need and want but have been too nervous to go that extra step.
We have sedation trained nurses and dentists on hand to help you the process easily.
Initially, a small assessment is made to see if you are suitable for this treatment and so that we can explain what you will feel and what to do on the day and afterwards.
A very small injection is made in the arm on the day and the sedative then gets to work.
The feeling is one of feeling very relaxed and comfortable (you remain awake throughout so that you remain safe BUT you will need someone to take you home)
