the Bancroft way . . . putting patients first
Digital x-rays – we have always embraced digital technology in order to get fast instant results and reduce the radiation dose to our patients
CT scanner – our jewel in the crown is the ability to take CT scans here in Hitchin (without the needless trip to London as in the past) – we’ve invested in a machine that can take dedicated 3D images for use in accurately planning and placing implants as well as investigating anything dental – useful for our specialists to use on the spot!
Digital intra-oral scanner – this takes the place of dental impressions and improves accuracy in one more step – so useful if you find this step difficult.
Dental Microscope – one for us geeks! But now means our clinicians and more specifically our endodontist can zoom things up to over 30x, so nothing misses our eagle eyes.
Again, this was once the reserve of central London practices but now very much a treatment protocol here at Bancroft Dentistry.
As a former ‘Dentist of the Year’, Fahd Saleh our specialist periodontist is vastly experienced in placing implants and in particular the more complex nature of this type of treatment.
What is it and what does it involve?
Put simply, the All On 4 procedure involves strategically placing 4 implants into either jaw (usually when you have no teeth or sadly when the teeth that remain need to be removed) – these implants are generally fitted in one session and on the same day (hence the name!) a bridge is fitted to these 4 implants to restore your smile!
A lot of work goes into this as you can imagine but the results can be truly life-changing!
Speak to our reception team to arrange a consultation with Fahd who will talk you through this and answer any questions.
They can be used to replace a single tooth or can be used to support a dental bridge to replace several missing teeth.
We know that you’ve probably done your research before seeing us, after all so many practices offer implants these days!
Be reassured that both Frank and Fahd have years of experience in placing dental implants and the benefits to you they bring.
(Frank has been placing implants since 2003 and has an MSc in Dental Implant Dentistry from Warwick University, whilst Fahd has degrees from several UK universities as well as the Royal College of Surgeons in London)
At Bancroft Dentistry we use only the highest quality dental implants (there are over 200 manufacturers of dental implants globally, but we concentrate on only the market leaders in Europe) as we believe a good result starts with the raw materials we are using.
Together with our CBCT scanner technology and intra-oral digital scanning we are able to plan implant placement accurately which in turn speeds up healing and leads to excellent results.
We only work with UK based dental technicians (some of whom we’ve worked closely with for many years).
The answer lies in placing implants to secure your denture.
Whilst not as invasive or expensive as placing a fixed bridge on implants, sometimes just simply placing 2 implants in the lower jaw is enough to keep your lower denture from ever moving!
The denture ‘clicks’ into special connections to the implants and your confidence in its staying there can be restored!
