It’s no exaggeration to say that Invisalign® is the world’s leading transparent aligner system.
It’s the ultimate option for anyone who doesn’t want a traditional metal brace and the hassle that can sometimes go with having one.
Invisalign® is a set of custom transparent aligners which are changed every 2 weeks by you. The aligners are worn in a precise sequence and each one moves your teeth a step closer towards being straighter. With Invisalign®, you can achieve a straighter set of teeth in just 12 months (though for more complex cases this may take 18 months).
One of the biggest turn-offs for patients when they hear about metal braces, is that eating with them can be a pain. With Invisalign®, you’ll simply be able to take the aligner out, and eat as normal. You have a 2-hour window every day during which you can take the aligners out.
We won’t mince words – metal braces make tooth brushing difficult, obstructing your tooth surfaces and making the process take longer. With Invisalign®, simply take the aligner out, and brush like normal, saving you effort and time.
Whilst Invisalign® aligners aren’t totally invisible (if only!) they are pretty close to being so. The transparent plastic is incredibly hard to discern (unless you have superhuman eyesight), so people are unlikely to even notice you are wearing the aligners.
Using our state-of-the-art ClinCheck software, we can show you how your smile will look by the end of treatment, and the various movements they will go through to get there.
We’ll also need to check you don’t have any hidden issues like decay or gum disease before moving forward – as responsible dentists, we never go ahead with elective treatment like Invisalign® until your teeth have undergone a full MOT to check for any issues.
Your dentist will let you know what to expect with Invisalign®, and once you’re happy to go ahead, we’ll take digital photos and scans of your teeth. These are used to make your custom made aligners.
When your aligners are ready, you can take them home to start wearing them. We will need to see you every 6-8 weeks for check-ups during the treatment period.
Once you’ve finished wearing the aligners and your smile is nice and straight, we’ll give you a retainer to wear to stop your teeth from moving out of position.
At Bancroft Dentistry, we’re ideally placed as an established Invisalign® practice to provide this service to you.
Dr Drisna Gorasia will carefully assess your orthodontic needs (straightening teeth) and guide you through
the whole process (without a word of dental jargon) to safely get you to your new straighter smile.
In some cases, a simple scan will ascertain how long your treatment should take and we can get you started there and then!

Crowded teeth is a condition where you do not have enough room for your teeth to fit normally. This can cause plaque or tartar and other harmful bacteria to build up as it is harder for you to brush and floss well.
Gaps between teeth is when there is extra space between two or more of your teeth. This can cause pockets between your teeth and gums and can cause food to get stuck making them tender and sore. This might also lead to gum disease.
An Open bite is when your upper and lower teeth don't touch when you close your mouth. An open bite can make it hard for you to chew or difficult to bite even the most common of food like apples.
An underbite is when you close your mouth and your lower front teeth are in front of your upper teeth. In many cases, this is actually a problem with your lower jaw being too far forward. An underbite can make it hard to chew properly and speak clearly, and it might cause your teeth to wear down more quickly
An overbite is when your upper front teeth overlap with your lower front teeth. Most people have at least a little overbite. When your overbite is too large, your doctor might tell you you have a deep bite. This can cause problems, from your teeth wearing down to pain in your jaw.
A crossbite is when you close your mouth and yet some of your upper teeth are sitting inside your lower teeth rather than on the outside. A crossbite can make your teeth wear down or chip. It can also make your gums start to recede or make little notches above your gum line. This kind of damage can lead to painful gum problems or even bone loss.
Many people worry about the cost of Invisalign® braces, and so we have devised a number of payment plans to help you afford the right treatment with Invisalign.

Regular metal braces are effective, and for many people, they’re a viable solution, especially if you need treatment for complex bite issues – Invisalign® isn’t suited to severe issues.
If you’re someone who wants minimal fuss when it comes to eating and brushing, Invisalign® is for you. It’s also a good choice if you don’t want your brace to drawn attention, as it’s made of transparent plastic and sits snugly against your teeth out of view.
