How Our Emergency Service Works

• We open at 8.00 am every day during the week so please call us as early as you can. Calling us at the end of the working day may mean having to wait until the following morning for an appointment time.
• We’ll see you as soon as we possibly can, but please understand that there may need to be a degree of flexibility around your preferred appointment time with an emergency dentist.
• Your dentist will examine your teeth and provide you with pain relief and antibiotics (if clinically appropriate.
• If a filling is needed, this can sometimes be performed during your emergency appointment. More complex restorations (crowns and onlays) will be performed at a follow-up appointment.

• Uncontrolled bleeding from the mouth.
• A knocked-out tooth (due to trauma to the face).
• An impacted or infected wisdom tooth.
• An infected tooth.
• Broken dentures or bridges.
• Jaw swelling.

We completely appreciate that it can be difficult to identify if a given issue falls under the umbrella of a “dental emergency’’. That’s why we always encourage patients to give us a call if they are in two minds – it’s always better to be safe and sure when it comes to your oral health.
