Most people will have some idea of what veneers are and what they can do to the overall shape, position and colour of your teeth (there are plenty of good and not-so-good examples on view daily on our TV screens, after all!)
With the advent of new techniques and materials available, veneers can now look natural and last for over 15 years with good care.
Dental veneers are thin layers of porcelain placed over the front surface of a tooth with a strong dental adhesive. It’s possible to have one tooth treated with a veneer (in cases where only a single tooth has sustained discolouration or a crack). However, most people tend to opt for veneers to enhance multiple teeth, maximising the effects of treatment.
Long-lasting
Veneers can last for up to 15 years, whilst composite bonding has a lifespan of 4 to 9 years (approximately). The porcelain material used to make veneers is also really stain-resistant, so you won’t have to have them replaced due to staining as you might if opting for composite bonding (composite resin is much more prone to staining than porcelain).
Natural Results
The veneers of today look and feel natural. They won’t look like they’ve come straight out of Hollywood in the 70s, they’ll simply look like your own teeth with some subtle enhancements.
